More info

The Buschur 2.1 is based on the 4G64 block. We have yet to see a 4G64 block split a cylinder wall and because of this we developed this engine. The engine uses a 2 liter crankshaft with a long rod like the 2LR engine but has a larger bore. This engine requires a special water pump adapter  and head gasket both of which we supply when you buy the engine from us. The 2.1 provides more low/mid range power than both the 2.0 and 2LR engines. The cylinder head will also need work to the combustion chamber to work correctly with this engine. The engine can be built with steel or aluminum rods. RPM limits have been pushed to over 10,000 rpm with this engine. This engine is recommended if you need high RPM capabilities and do not want to hardblock your 2 liter engine because of the horsepower goals.

The Buschur 2.1 for the Mitsubishi Evolution is a top of the line offering. This shor tblock comes to you with the entire rotating assemble installed. Its ready to have the head, oil pan and all the accessories bolted on and ready to be dropped in.

***BLOCK AND CRANK CORES ARE PROVIDED FOR THIS SHORTBLOCK ASSEMBLY***

The parts that are used in this kit are among the top engine internal suppliers in the automotive industry who has worked closely with Buschur's in developing the parts to our specific needs.

Buschur's 2.1 short block assembly has also been tested to make and hold over 700whp in the BAD BISH on our AWD Mustang Dyno and run 9.1 @ over 158 mph in the 1/4 mile.

With 2.1L short block you will receive:

  • Balanced and polished crank shaft
  • Race bearings
  • I-beam or aluminum connecting rod
  • Forged pistons with HD pins and new rings
  • Water Pump Adapter (Needed for 2.1)
  • Balance shaft eliminator kit

Along with this kit we also recommend a complete engine gasket kit, new headstuds and all brand new belts & tensioners.

If you have had an engine failure we HIGHLY recommend a brand new oil cooler be purchased at the time of the engine rebuild. Failure to do so can have catastrophic consequences.
